Where is Meredith Manor located?

What are the enrollment requirements?
Our only requirements are you must be a high school graduate or equivalent in good physical health. We do not have a GPA requirement and we do not require SAT or ACT scores. Many students who may not have excelled in academics do very well in our program where they are pursuing a skill based education.
 
How much riding experience do I need to be accepted into the Riding Master programs?
All levels of riders from true beginners to experienced professionals are accepted into our programs. All incoming students will go through riding evaluations and will be placed in classes appropriate for their skill level.
 
What age of students attend Meredith Manor?
We've had students from age 17 to 63. Many of our students start directly out of high schoool, many transfer from equine studies programs at other colleges where they didn't feel they were getting adequate hands-on time with the horses, many are older students who have long dreamed of making a living with horses and have decided to make a career change, and some are experienced equine professionals who want to sharpen their skills or gain a formal education.
 
Can I bring my horse with me to Meredith Manor?
Yes, students may bring their own horses with them and choose whether their horse will be used in our program or not. If their horse is used in our program, the student will determine if they will ride the horse exclusively or if it will be ridden by other students as well. What equipment will I need to bring with me to school?

What is the difference between the different programs, ex. RMI, RMII, RMIII, RMIV, RMV, RMVI, 36 Wk Comp RMIII, 36 Wk Comp RMVI, 72 Wk Comp RMIII, 72 Wk Comp RMVI, Equine Science Master, and Shoeing Short Course?

The Riding Master I-VI programs are sequential, upon completion of one program you may move on to the next until you've completed the Riding Master VI which is our full program. You may also choose to graduate upon completion of any program.

The Comprehensive Riding Master programs are available for students using federal financial aid. By law, to be eligible for financial aid you must be enrolled in a program of 30 weeks or more. Our Riding Master I - VI programs are 12 weeks each, so we offer the Comprehensive Riding Master programs which are just 3 Riding Master programs lumped together to make the program long enough to be eligible for financial aid. The Riding Master I, II, and III together have the same curriculum as the Comprehensive Riding Master III. So if you are applying for federal financial aid you will need to enroll in a Comprehensive Riding Master III program, otherwise you may enroll in the Riding Master I program.

The only difference between the 36 week and 72 week Comprehensive Riding Master programs is the length of time it will take to complete the program - the curriculum is the same. The 72 week programs are what we refer to as half time programs, you will take the same classes - it just takes twice as long to complete. Some students elect to take the 72 week programs because they need more free time for outside obligations including work, child care, etc.

The Equine Science Master program is for students who do not want to be involved, or cannot be involved, in the direct riding of horses, yet wish to pursue a career in management, teaching, farrier, massage therapy or a combination of these. It has a similar curriculum to the Riding Master programs but instead of having 2 Riding classes and 2 Career Area classes per day, the Equine Science Master students have 3 career area classes per day and no riding classes.

For our Farrier students we offer a 12 week Shoeing Short Course which is well suited for students with some previous farrier knowledge and skills. We also offer a 36 week Equine Science Master with Farrier Emphasis program which is more in depth with additional focus on anatomy, conformation, unsoundness, diseases, and forge work. The Equine Science Master with Farrier Emphasis is a 3 quarter (36 week) program.

Which program should I apply for?
If you plan to take riding classes choose the Comprehensive Riding Master III if you intend to apply for financial aid, choose the Riding Master I if you are not going to apply for financial aid. If you do NOT want to take riding classes, choose the Equine Science Master. Farrier only students should choose from the 12 Week Shoeing Short Course and the Equine Science Master with Farrier Emphasis. Is Meredith Manor an accredited school?
Yes, Meredith Manor is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), and licensed by the State College System of West Virginia as listed on our Accreditations page.
 
How do I access the online catalog?
Click on the School Catalog link, fill out the form, and click the Submit button. On the confirmation page, click the Process Request button. On the next page you will be given a password which you can use on future visits to the site to access the online catalog. You will then click the Online Catalog link to access the online catalog. On future visits to the site, click on the School Catalog link, enter the password in the password text box on the left, and click the continue button.

How do I lock in the current tuition rate?
By submitting your enrollment and deposit, you lock in the current tuition price. Therefore, if you enroll now for a program several years from now, and there is a tution raise between now and then, when you begin your program you will be charged the tuition amount from the date you submitted your deposit.
 
Does Meredith Manor offer scholarships?
We do not offer scholarships ourselves, however, Meredith Manor does accept scholarships from any organization for a student in our program. There are many organizations who offer scholarships, many of which can be found by asking your Guidance Counselor, going to your local library, or contacting local equine organizations.
 
How do I apply for enrollment?
Fill out the School Catalog request form. If you request a hard copy of the catalog, enrollment forms will be mailed to you with the catalog. You can also apply online. Go to the Online Catalog and click the Online Enrollment link on the left navigation bar. Next, click the Program you would like to enroll in, fill out the form, and click the link at the bottom of the page.
